I would suggest informing

Giovannoni, in Nagasaki,

Colonel Somerville at Tokyo with a view to asking the

Japanese to deport them.

The 60 German sailers, mentioned in the Newspapers, on arrival in Shanghai from Tientsin, went on board the Austrian-Lloyd steamer "Bohemia", pending the arrival of the "Korea" on which they sailed to Amerios, on May 29th,

The Germans gave out that these men were Red Cross

workers, but from reliable information received I know them

to be ratings from the Gunboats ("Luchs", "Jaguar" &o.)

The N.1.0., Shanghai, has cabled the Admiral and

hopes he may inform the Japanese with the object of getting

them to take them off the "Korea" for internment, A second

batch of 69 men arrived at Shanghai on June 1st from Nanking,

presumably from Tientsin, accompanied by two Nurses wearing

Red Cross bands, These also all went on board the "Bohemia",

probably to remain there until the next Pacific Mail leaves,

The Consul-General, Shanghai, has been informed,

and is also of opinion they are some of the crews ex "Jaguar",

"Luche", &o, posing as Red Cross,

The "Widow" of Major von Pappenheim, with maid,

sailed for America by "Korea", Reports are current that

the Mongols blew up and burnt the raiding party. The

Russians, however, notwithstanding the "widow" have not taken

it for granted and are still watching carefully.

Proof should be obtainable if the facts are as

stated.
